Home Renovations & Additions

Commercial-grade project management, in-house tradespeople, and decades of historic-home expertise — applied to every renovation and addition.

Renovations Built to Last

Whether you're restoring a turn-of-the-century home in Boston-Edison or adding a modern wing to a Mid-Century ranch, JC Beal brings the same discipline we apply to our commercial work — detailed scoping, transparent budgets, and skilled tradespeople on staff.

We specialize in projects where craftsmanship matters: original millwork, plaster repair, masonry, and period-correct fixtures, paired with modern mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you handle design as well as construction?

Yes. We offer design-build services so you have a single point of accountability from concept through final punch list — coordinating architects, engineers, and trades under one contract.

Can you work on historic homes?

Absolutely. As a partner of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, we routinely restore plaster, original millwork, masonry, and period fixtures while modernizing systems behind the walls.

How long does a typical renovation take?

A kitchen or bath remodel may take 6–12 weeks; a whole-home renovation or addition typically runs 4–9 months depending on scope, permitting, and material lead times. We provide a detailed schedule before work begins.

Do you pull permits and manage inspections?

Yes. We manage all permitting, inspections, and code compliance as part of our standard scope.

Will I have a single point of contact?

Yes — every project is led by a dedicated project manager who handles communication, scheduling, and on-site coordination from start to finish.
